Starting a Food Blog
I started my blog Cristine's Favorite in January 2011. If you would give a clear look at it, it’s a personal blog that serves as a home for my cluttered mind. You see, in “Cristine’s”, I write just about anything. Many of my friends and colleagues have been convincing me to make a food blog since I’ve been in the food business for several years now.
I used to shove off the idea
believing that it doesn’t matter whether a blog has a specific niche or not. However, when I was trying out a new look for
“Cristine” I found a link to a really old blog. I used to write my poems there,
I intended to turn it to a poetry blog or something. Then I thought of why not turning it into a
food blog? I found myself naming it, “Food Lover’s Café.” There, I take the
first step in having a food blog. Now, the challenge is maintaining it. aja!
So please follow me at the Food Lover’s
Café thru wordpress.com: http://cristine1231.wordpress.com/

Dairy Queen Blizzard Treat
DQ Blizzard and Sylvannas for Snack
An office mate and MRT buddy was with me for an afternoon of hanging out at Gateway Mall Food Express. It's alright to treat ourselves out every once in awhile. So here's what we got for our late afternoon snack or should I say not so healthy and definite not diet-friendly dinner?
What I like most about Gateway Mall Food Express is it's very accessible and there are more than enough number of food shops to choose from. I surely spend more quick afternoon and early night trips at this place. See you around!

Lee Kum Kee and Oleo Fats Cooking Demo
Lee Kum Kee and Oleo Fats Cooking Demo with Chef Bruce Lim
Our group was lucky to receive invitations for Lee Kum Kee and Oleo Fats Cooking Demo last April 18, 2013. The activity was held at #63 Industria St., Bagumbayan, Libis, Quezon City. Lee Kum Kee is one of the leading manufacturers of oriental condiments. Lee Kum Kee makes the best Oyster Sauce that brings out the best in sautéed vegetable dishes and in wide variety of food offerings.
Oleo-Fats is known for being the manufacturer of specialty food oils in the Philippines. The company's product line has grown from oils to seasonings, dressings and flavorings.
I'll share to you the yummy treats we enjoyed:
Fried Fish with Lemon Tartar Sauce Mayo |
Breaded Pork chops with Sizzling Sauce Brown Gravy Mix |
Fish Fillet with Honey Garlic and Lemon Sauce |
Seared Salmon with Lemon Cream Sauce Base |
Breaded Chicken Cutlets with Spicy Tomato Sauce Mashed Potato |
Spicy Pork Ribs |
I don't have a picture of the Cheese Stick with Sauce Duo Cheese Sauce, well, I ate 'em right away! haha. Every specialty served were delicious and flavors varied from one dish to another. At the end of the demo and discussion we were given dainty desserts that tastes like Banofee.
We received loot bags with product samples from both Lee Kum Kee and Oleo Fats. It was an indeed a fun and delicious afternoon plus we have gifts to bring home to our family. Thank you very much!

How to Spend your Vacation
Starting all over again. That's how I am exactly feeling right now after not composing a blog post for quite sometime. But, hey! It's the last day of the work week and I am sure most of us are planning for a vacation. My mind is set to vacation mode as well, so tada! Here's a new blog post:
How to Spend your Vacation
Come on... Who doesn't want to go for a trip to the beautiful, tempting and relaxing vacation spots in the Philippines? I'm sure some families are on their way. Wherever your travel destination will be don't forget to bring a first aid kit. Believe me you'll need this. Especially when you'll be traveling with kids. During one of my travels, I caught a terrible headache. I was lucky to buy medicines at a grocery store along the way but having a few basic medicines in the bag could have caused less trouble. 'Lesson learned.
How to Spend your Vacation
For working parents, time off from work is precious. A chance away from the office and setting aside tons of workload means having a taste of what really matters in life. The moment I step out of the work place, coming home to my family is my top of mind. And what is sweeter than hearing the kids chanting Mommy, Daddy? Seeing them smile? Well, God is really a generous God because He gives hardworking and loving parents a chance to savor those moments more. Tomorrow is a start of a long weekend and I am super excited and grateful.
This Holy Week, just like the previous ones we shared as a family, we hear mass at Saint Joseph's Shrine at Aurora Boulevard, Project 3, Quezon City.
This is also where we hear mas every Sunday and where we send mass offerings on important events in the family. Both my sons were baptized here too. Beyond the silent walls of this church are religious milestones I have witnessed in my children. By patience, love and optimism, my kids learned to sit down and hear mass. At their tender age, they appreciate the teachings of the church.
My late Lola thought me to pray the rosary and I thank her for that. My children are too young to learn this but hearing them say their prayer before meals and going to bed is wonderful. Prayers serve as fuel to keep our communication with God going strong. The act of praying calms us and gives us hope in our daily lives.
And this...
is Heaven here on Earth! Having a family to spend vacation with. Even if often times affording an expensive tour is impossible... Simple moments fills the heart with so much joy.
Have a blessed week everyone!
